TV Screen vs. Imagination

Another thought. What Do you think is better? Reading a Gothic Horror novel? Or Watching a Gothic Horror Film? Would you rather want to actually see the goriness on screen or imagine what it would actually be like in your head while reading the book? Personally, I would like to read it in a book. I would get to use my brain to imagine what the setting would look like and delve into the imagery. What are your guys' thoughts?

  1. Personally i would rather read the book and imagine what the monsters and things look like, instead of actually seeing them because i am not the bravest soul when it comes to horror movies, but i really I really think it depends on the person you are asking because some may enjoy watching the blood and guts spill everywhere and others..weelll maybe not!

  2. i wouls love to see blod and guts everywhere! plus whenever a movie about a book is made you sorta get a better idea of what the creatures look like. for example Harry Potter. Fluffy (giant three headed dog) looks way cooler in the movie than it did in my imagination. cons not everything can be put into film some of it is impossible to make. so its a win-lose situation. plus reading takes longer than watching the movie so yeah..

  3. I prefer the movie. This is another point i made on my own blog. The style of gothic novels has died down because many more people would rather watch a movie compared to the amount of people that would read the book. It does depend on the type of person but i think the numbers are far range. Movies are way easier if you dont have the patience to read a book.

  4. Yeah all good points. I guess it depends on what kind of person you are... a visual person or imaginative person. And @Rubenz you're right. Things may look better on screen than what we do imagine, but isn't one of the joy of reading a book using your brain to imagine what the characters would look like?

  5. i agree with jessicee123.... yes that is a reason ehy peolpe read books, but most peolpe really dont like to read, yes there are alot that do but alot of the pop. of the world would less likely want to read the book if there is a movie out about it. but i feel that sometimes reading the original is better becuase movie remakes can be a real upset.

  6. I have to say reading a book, because have you ever dseen a book as a movie. You get so mad at the movie because it doesn't follow the book . Reading also inhances your brain cells so pick up and READ!!
